The Australasian Pollination Ecologists Society (A.P.E.S.) was formed in August 1980. The aims of the Society are to participate in, encourage and communicate research in the field of pollination ecology in Australasia. A.P.E.S. welcomes the involvement of all botanists, ecologists, zoologists, population geneticists, embryologists and others with an interest in pollination ecology in Australasia. A.P.E.S. provides a forum for the exchange of information and ideas through newsletters and meetings.

A.P.E.S. welcomes and encourages student involvement and since 1998 the APES Scholarship of $500 has been awarded competitively to one student from a field of high quality applicants.

A.P.E.S.
The Society has about 100 members and it welcomes new members with interests that support A.P.E.S. Members receive regular newsletters (between 2 and 4 a year). We meet as a group every two years, at informal meetings that have been held in South Australia, Westerm Australia, Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales. Our most recent meeting took place in New Zealand in January 2000. Annual membership to A.P.E.S. costs AUS $10.

If you would like to join A.P.E.S., fill out a membership form. Please complete the form, include AUS $10 for a year's subscription, and send it to:

Dr Sue Carthew, Vice- President A.P.E.S., Dept. of Applied and Molecular Ecology, The University of Adelaide, ROSEWORTHY, SA, 5371, AUSTRALIA, (Australian applicants), or

Dr Alastair Robertson, Ecology Dept., Massey University, Private Bag 11222, Palmerston North, NEW ZEALAND. (Overseas applicants).
